The Scène Ouverte gallery located at 72 rue Mazarine, at the heart of the gallery district of Saint Germain des Prés in Paris, presents art furniture and ceramics in unique pieces or limited editions. The gallery creates the link between contemporary creation and the highest standards of craftsmanship. Above all, it stands up for rarity and excellence.

The gallery represents young designers and ceramic artists who all share the same way of working, a thought: beyond the function or form, an intrinsic creative energy is released. Their research on material and their know-how make them a part of the history of decorative arts. Well beyond the function of their creations, each of these objects tells a unique story, with a creative vision that marks their era.

As an artist and collector, I bring together in one creative impulse unique pieces from artists and designers or very limited editions of no more than eight copies, such as sculpture prints. The artists represented create these pieces especially for the gallery.

I decided to open this gallery because I wanted to share my view of contemporary creation, without any barriers, and to be able to present works as well as art furniture without any constraints or restrictions. I choose artists whose work and whose personality touch me. Their exceptional, unique creations illustrate my passion for expert craftsmanship.

Zoé Vescia joined the gallery in 2018. Since then, she has shared the same view of contemporary creation, and became an associate in 2021.

Invisible Collection and Mobilier national partner to promote contemporary creation and present limited-edition designs. Mobilier national is a major institution for contemporary creation and the promotion of French decorative arts, whose mission has been to ensure, since the seventeenth century, the conservation and restoration of unique collections in the world. Mobilier national has broadened its scope by launching an annual “Campagne d’Acquisition” to support creativity and to integrate these pieces into the national collections. These works are then exhibited in institutional buildings. Thanks to this unprecedented partnership, a selection of contemporary furniture revealed by the Mobilier national’s 2021 “Campagne d’Acquisition” is available for purchase: Collectors will be able to acquire furniture that has been included in the official collections, and is available in limited edition on Invisible Collection.
