The Torii Coffee Table by Studio Carbone 14 draws its inspiration from a 19th century print by the Japanese painter Kawase Hasui. It has 3 trays of different sizes and heights supported by 6 legs. These are covered with 12 layers of paint. Over time, the feet will wear out and reveal the colours of the underlays. The intentional wear in the design lends the table its unique quality and singularity that grows over time.
